If you need a good reason to go shopping this holiday weekend, retailers have one for you.
Many stores will be offering winter discounts and clearance promotions in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, and we’ve compiled the best offerings for you.
Apparel and accessories
- Anthropologie: At Anthropologie, use coupon code XTRA40 to take an extra 40% off sale items as part of the store’s Winter Tag Sale. This event is available for a limited time.
- Carter’s: Shop hundreds of styles priced at $3.99 and up. Plus, through Monday, take an extra 20% off.
- Coach: Shop deep discounts on apparel, shoes and accessories.
- Famous Footwear: Kick off 2016 with a serious sale on some new kicks. Buy one clearance pair and get a second one (of equal or lesser value) for 50% off. Some exclusions apply, and this sale ends Monday.
- J.C. Penney: Through Monday, use coupon code JANSAVE to save an extra 25% off qualifying online purchases of $100 or more with your J.C. Penney credit card or an extra 20% off with any other method of payment. Or, in store and online, use the same promo code (or print an in-store coupon) to take an extra 20% off qualifying purchases with your J.C. - Kmart: Get paid to shop online or in store at Kmart. Through Jan. 31, customers can print a coupon (or use promo code 9700060596183460) to take $10 off a qualifying $150 purchase.

- PacSun: You can take an additional 30% to 50% off markdowns. There’s no ending date listed on this one, so act soon before it’s gone.
- Victoria’s Secret: Enter promo code SHIP50 to score free shipping on orders of $50 or more through Jan. 18.

- Lowe’s: Through Jan. 26, take 10% off select major appliance purchases of $396 or more. Plus, take advantage of free local delivery and haul away.
- Pier 1 Imports: Exercise your shopping savvy by acting on end-of-season bargains at Pier 1 Imports. The store’s One Big Sale and Clearance promotion includes up to 50% off select departments plus 75% off all Christmas items.
