The American Kennel Club is perhaps best known for its registration of dog breeds and dog shows. AKC offers pet insurance policies from PetPartners and underwritten by American Pet Insurance Co. Your dog does not have to be purebred to be eligible for the pet insurance. Cats can be insured too. AKC offers two plans: an accident-only plan and an illness and accident plan.
