July 17 is National Ice Cream Day. And if having an excuse to cheat on your diet isn’t reason enough for you to love this day, we have another: You can get free or cheap desserts.
We rounded up a handful of places where you can get a deal on your ice cream sundae this Sunday, plus a few with special seasonal offerings.
Carvel Ice Cream
On July 17, buy one, get one free on any size soft serve cup or cone at participating Carvel locations throughout the United States. If you plan on stopping by to take advantage of the offer, you can RSVP via the event’s Facebook page.
Monkey Joe’s
This ice cream shop isn’t monkeying around when it comes to National Ice Cream Day. On July 17, visit your local Monkey Joe’s parlor for a promise of prizes, giveaways and free ice cream throughout the day.
Baskin-Robbins
On National Ice Cream Day, Baskin-Robbins will donate 75 cents from every ice cream float sold to the USO. Also, while it’s not free, customers can purchase the USO Patriot Pop, a new flavor consisting of cherry, lemon and blue-raspberry flavored ices. It’s sold by the scoop or in a float.
Dippin’ Dots
Through July 31, enter for your chance to win the Dippin’ Dots sweepstakes. You can have a shot at winning a $25 iTunes or Google Play gift card or a free Dippin’ Dots home delivery. There will be two winners each day in July.
PetSmart
Fido likes a sweet treat, too. PetSmart is giving away “doggie ice cream sundaes” (dog-safe vanilla soft serve with dog biscuits sprinkled on top) at all PetSmart PetsHotel locations on July 17.
Dairy Queen
Treat yourself to the July Blizzard Treat of the Month. For a limited time at participating Dairy Queen locations, customers can eat up the M&M’s Peanut Butter Monster Cookie Blizzard. The dessert includes peanut butter cookies, M&M’s, choco chunks, peanut butter topping and vanilla soft serve.
Steak ‘n Shake
Through Aug. 21, go online for a coupon that’ll give you access to a buy one, get one free offer on any regular size Oreo milkshake at Steak ‘n Shake. Also through Aug. 21, the restaurant has a coupon for $1 off any regular size specialty milkshake.
